Roll up roll up, Choral Activists one and all….!
I am beside myself with excitement to announce that we have a very special Brighton Tubthumpers session coming up soon, featuring the venerable and awesome folk and protest legend that is FRANKIE ARMSTRONG!
Frankie will be leading the next Tubthumpers with me, on November 8th.
Frankie is one of the original movers and shakers of the political song movement. She is a friend and contemporary of Peggy Seeger and Leon Rosselson (to name just two) and she has being singing out against injustice and oppression – from Greenham Common to the Anti-Capitalist Roadshow – for many decades.
She is also THE founding member of the Natural Voice movement and her empowering, inclusive approach to commnity singing underpins the approach that we Natural Voice Practitioners use to help to keep our communities harmonically happy!
Frankie doesn’t come to Brighton very often, so don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to sing with her, share her fantastic energy and repertoire, stories of singing for political change past, present and future, and let’s help to build Brighton’s movement of singing for positive political change.
BRIGHTON UNITARIAN CHURCH, from 1pm – 6pm.
Everyone wanting to sing for positive political change is very very welcome.
A percentage of our profits will go to REFUGEE START, a grass roots organisation run by Brighton folk who are currently working in Lesvos to support refugees.
Costs are ridiculously cheap and there is space a-plenty.
