Privacy Policy

My website

Website address: https://www.kirstymartin.co.uk

I take the protection of your data seriously when you visit my site. My aim is to provide a personalised and valuable service whilst safeguarding my users’ privacy. Collecting some personal information is necessary if I am able to keep clients informed of the kinds of workshops, gigs and other choral opportunities that they have expressed an interest in. I have set out below what personal information I keep, what I use it for and where it is stored. The website uses SSL encryption to provide a secure connection.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

This website collects limited Personally Identifiable Information (PII) depending on how you use the site, specifically when you interact to communicate or purchase, or for particular third-party functions (video hosted by Vimeo, Google maps). These instances are detailed below. You can request that data we hold may be reviewed or removed at any time: see How we manage your data, below.

My Digital Downloads Shop

My shop collects information about you during the checkout process. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of processing your orders.

The shop uses PayPal to process payment, and the information you provide is processed in accordance with the PayPal privacy policy.

Handling this data on this website allows me to:

  • Send you important order/service information.
  • Respond to your queries, refund requests, or complaints.
  • Process payments and to prevent fraudulent transactions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.
  • Set up and administer your account, provide technical and/or customer support, and to verify your identity.

Additionally the shop may also collect the following information:

  • Product pages visited and content viewed while your session is active.
  • Account email/password to allow you to access your account, if you have one.

Contact forms

On some pages of the website, there is a form with which you can send a message to me. The forms may include fields of PII, including your name, email address, phone numbers and postal address. I elect not to store IPs with form submissions. This information is held securely in the website’s database.

My mailing list

I use Mailchimp to send out my newsletters. If you sign-up for my emails your name and email address will be added to and stored securely in my Mailchimp database and on the website database. Read the Mailchimp privacy policy. I only ever use my newsletter to send you news of my own projects; choral opportunities, gigs, gatherings, workshops and new musical arrangements. I have never and would never share this information with third parties.

Embedded content (Vimeo)

This site uses embedded videos from Vimeo (my own). Vimeo sets cookies (see below) to serve video content and provide controls. It may also monitor interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have a Vimeo account.

Events location maps

I use Google services to generate maps and provide autocompletion when searching for events by location, which may collect data via your browser in accordance to Google’s privacy policy.

How we manage your data

This website’s administrators

Administrators can manage the content (text, documents, pictures) on the pages of this website. Only three people have administrative access to my website; my website designer, my administrator and myself.

What rights you have over your data

In accordance with your privacy rights, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. To make a request, contact my administrator via choralfeats@gmail.com

Cookies

I use Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service offered by Google, to tracks and analyse traffic to this website. This helps me offer a better user experience for you. Every device (router, desktop, tablet, smartphone etc) that is connected directly to the Internet is allocated an Internet address called an IP address. This IP address is considered to be PII (Personally Identifiable Information) because it identifies your location. By default, Google Analytics saves your IP address. To maintain your privacy, however, we have prevented your IP address from being stored by Google Analytics.

Cookies set by Google Analytics for general tracking:
_ga (expires + 2 years)
_gid (expires 1 day)

Session cookies: If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

This website makes use of Vimeo, a video sharing website to display and deliver videos. Vimeo sets a cookie (vuid) to check if certain features or preferences on the embedded Vimeo player have been selected by the user. More information can be found on Vimeo’s privacy policy.
